WomenHack Expands: From San Francisco to New Markets
Four months after our inaugural event at CBS Interactive in San Francisco, WomenHack is growing faster than we imagined. The demand from both employers and candidates has been overwhelming—and we are expanding to meet it.
Why Expansion Was Inevitable
Our San Francisco events proved the model works. Employers consistently report higher quality conversations and faster time-to-hire compared to traditional recruiting channels. Candidates tell us they appreciate being treated as the sought-after talent they are.
But we kept hearing the same question: When are you coming to my city?
The Case for Geographic Growth
Tech talent is increasingly distributed. While the Bay Area remains a hub, major technology employers now operate in cities across the country and around the world. Each of these markets has talented women technologists who deserve better access to opportunities.
And the employers are there too. Whether they are headquartered in New York, Boston, Austin, or Seattle, forward-thinking companies want access to diverse talent pools in every market where they operate.
Our Expansion Philosophy
As we grow, we remain committed to our core principles:
- Quality over quantity: We vet every candidate and employer
- Candidate-first experience: The reverse-recruiting model stays central
- Local community building: Each city develops its own WomenHack community
- Continuous improvement: We learn from every event and iterate
What This Means for Employers
If you are hiring in multiple markets, WomenHack can now help you access diverse talent pools beyond the Bay Area. Our expansion means consistent quality and format across locations, making it easier to integrate WomenHack into your diversity recruiting strategy.
