After two years of virtual events, WomenHack is returning to in-person gatherings in cities around the world. For employers and candidates alike, 2022 marks a new chapter in diversity recruiting.
The Return to In-Person Events
Virtual events served us well during the pandemic. We connected talent with employers across geographic boundaries, proving that meaningful recruiting could happen without physical presence.
But something was missing. The energy of a room full of women in tech. The serendipitous conversations during networking breaks. The deeper connections that form when people share physical space.
In 2022, we’re bringing that back—while keeping the best of our virtual innovations.
What’s Returning
The Speed Interview Format
Our signature 5-minute rapid conversations are back in person. Candidates rotate through company tables, creating multiple connections in a single evening. It’s efficient for everyone—and more engaging face-to-face.
Keynote Speakers
Events kick off with talks from host company leaders and industry speakers. These moments set the tone and give candidates insight into company culture before interviews begin.
Networking Time
Perhaps what we’ve missed most: unstructured time for connection. Candidates meeting each other. Recruiters building relationships. The community bonds that sustain careers beyond any single job.

Virtual Events Continue
While in-person returns, virtual events remain part of our offering. For candidates in smaller markets, those with accessibility needs, or anyone who prefers the format, virtual WomenHack events provide the same speed-interview experience online.
Virtual attendees can meet with up to 20 companies in just 2 hours through our video platform.
For Employers: Why In-Person Matters
In-person events offer unique advantages:
- Culture Showcase: Hosting at your office lets candidates experience your environment
- Team Involvement: Your employees can participate and share authentic perspectives
- Deeper Connections: Face-to-face builds relationships that survive the hiring process
- Brand Visibility: Physical presence signals commitment to diversity
Companies that hosted pre-pandemic—like X by 2, Intertech, and Clarus Commerce—saw significant recruiting success. In-person events are returning to that model.
What to Expect
A typical WomenHack evening includes:
- Welcome and Keynotes (30 min) – Host company introduction and diversity talks
- Speed Interviews (90 min) – 5-minute rotations between candidates and companies
- Open Networking (30+ min) – Informal connections and deeper conversations
