Working at Cisco Systems R&D(China) was a great and rewarding experience. I enjoyed supporting a group of manager, assisting with soft-skills training and development of Business Language skills. I also help to consult in areas of communication and diplomacy in working with international clients.All of my colleagues there were welcoming and worked very hard to build good working relationships with each other and their clients. It was great to have made long-lasting friendships. It enhanced my expat experience to be able to have a family away from home!

Cisco Norway have a small organisation so to get promoted is not easy. The sales management group is constant. So to be promoted you need to move to other countries.
I have been in Cisco around 20 years and the company has changed from being more of a Startup to a more bureaucratic company with rules and regulations. I have been in direct sales the whole time. The constant fear of layoffs started some years ago and it feels like we have work for one year at a time. I’ve always been rewarded for my performance and i think i have the same salary as my male colleagues. I do see a change in culture, it dosent feel like a family anymore

I’ve been at Cisco for 17 years. Opportunities are there for anyone to work towards. I’m fortunate to work in a group that has our own homegrown culture and it’s the best. I can’t speak to what has changed with Cisco’s larger cultural shift, however being a global entity makes an organic complexity to maintaining a single culture.
