In my opinion Visa Latinamerica has an importan management problem. Its a Club handle by men protecting the people in their positions for long time without taking consideration performance and results. If someone want to challenge the status quo to improve things for better is not welcome and actually it’s a high risk to be fire.

The environment is not friendly, not supportive and highly political. After 14 years there the only important aspect that I kept for myself is the brand name under my resume. It is some good people there but in avarage the people wants to keep their position and will do what the management wants to hear. Golden cage.

There was no support to progress in your career.

Though I was only there a year I had 7 different managers to report to. Very large boys club, but some of the women in leadership acted more like the boys than the boys towards women. They felt threatened. The people for the most part were very nice, but the turnover rate was very high when I was there.

Visa has been the worst company I’ve worked for. There is a serious problem with management that they kept saying they were trying to fix, but I couldn’t stay around that long to see what happened because my manager was so terrible. Life’s too short. They have a lot of people who are inexperienced as middle managers and it’s very political-mostly because I think it’s an old school bank environment trying to be a tech company. So instead of doing the right thing and take action they seem to wait around and hope problems solve themselves.

Not a great place to work after the new CEO joined. The focus of Visa Europe was to make it more commercially attractive so that it could be sold back to Visa Inc. This was not great for the staff.
There was no support to progress in your career and I was pleased when I left. Great people to work with but not great from a management level.

Visa was one of the worst environments I’ve worked in. The environment is not supportive of change and highly political. Large boys clubs exist which protect people in their positions and there is hostility towards anyone who challenges the status quo to improve things for the better. Avoid this company if you want to work in a progressive, challenging and rewarding environment.
