We’re breaking preconceived notions, using fearless innovation and redefining what’s possible by building the ultimate communications network. This network centers on our ultra-high capacity communications satellites and uses our advanced encryption and cyber technologies coupled with both our ground- and virtualized-based infrastructures to seamlessly tie into our international network of managed Wi-Fi hotspots to deliver a best available network that extends the reach and accessibility needed of broadband internet service, globally.

What Inspires Us

Continuously growing demand for broadband is indisputable; with total global bandwidth consumption doubling every two to three years. In 2010, 1.8 billion people were connected. That number would increase to 3 billion in 2017. And by 2025, the hope would be for the remaining 8+ billion people on the planet to all be connected – leaving the notion of the digital divide behind.

We are inspired to connect the world daily, and have set out to advance global connectivity beyond what traditional telecom, wireless, cable or fiber could deliver. This mission would lead us on a journey to use bold, innovative thinking in pursuit of solving one of the hardest communications problems: making the internet accessible and affordable to all.

We have a long history, 30+ years, of making bold commitments, then delivering on them – to our customers, our shareholders, and ourselves. We are bringing the same high-quality connections to individuals and families as we do to critical business, government, and military around the world.

In 2017, we unveiled ViaSat-2 – a satellite system so unique it would be the catalyst for connecting continents, people and places. It is the precursor to delivering ultimate internet experiences anywhere on the planet, where continuous, high-speed global connectivity is not a theory but a fact.

By 2019, we will begin to launch the world’s first a global broadband network. This network will be based on ViaSat-3, a next-generation, ultra-high capacity satellite constellation that will deliver the only affordable, high-speed, high-quality continuous internet and streaming service. Once fully deployed, the ViaSat-3 network will have three times the total combined network capacity of the approximate 400 commercial communications satellites in space today, and will deliver fiber-like speeds to consumers, businesses and military, anywhere.
