Trulia

On paper, Trulia looks like a great place to work. My experience as a leader in a company that Trulia purchased was incredibly negative and drove me out of the business. Senior leadership did not work well with others. There was a deliberate plan to undermine our sales teams’ performance. When 80 people at my company were laid off during the merger, 100 sales people and their managers cheered openly.
I couldn’t tell you if we were paid fairly – there was no transparency. It was definitely not a supportive place to work unless you started at Trulia and were favored by the right people. They spend money like it’s going out of style. They also had sales people drinking mimosas/alcohol in the am and beer carts in the afternoons.
Managers were given no limit on time off but the VP of Sales demanded that leaders NEVER mark their calendars “out of office”. It was bizarre.
On a positive note, there were learning opportunities for employees, high level female leaders and opportunity for advancement in sales.
