Salesforce, the Customer Success Platform and world’s #1 CRM, empowers companies to connect with their customers in a whole new way. The company was founded on three disruptive ideas: a new technology model in cloud computing, a pay-as-you-go business model, and a new integrated corporate philanthropy model. These founding principles have taken our company to great heights, including being named one of Forbes’s ÒWorld’s Most Innovative Company six years in a row and one of Fortune’s Ò100 Best Companies to Work For nine years in a row. We are the fastest growing of the top 10 enterprise software companies, and this level of growth equals incredible opportunities to grow a career at Salesforce. Together, with our whole Ohana (Hawaiian for “family”) made up of our employees, customers, partners and communities, we are working to improve the state of the world.

Overall it’s great place to work. I have been involved with Salesforce about 10 years ago. Since then the company grew exponentially. I can only give feedback based on my experience 10 years ago. Equal Pay – not sure, most likely. Career Advancement – it’s very political place, so it depends on the group and immediate manager.
Supportive culture is similar to career advancement – some groups are very open and some groups are extremely political and people afraid even to speak up.
Family Friendly – for sure all HR related items, e.g. benefits, family leave, discounts, gifts, were the best compared to any other place that I have worked

Great products and technology. Unfortunately the management cultures is extremely bad. You got promoted because you are the favourite and you know how to play politics. Performance is irrelevant to your promotion. They also imported a big gang of Americans into Australia using 475 visa ,then let go the local Aussies. These Americans have no special skills at all.
The turn over is extremely high. Great products, bad cultures, what a shame!

I worked for Salesforce for several years. I do not question Marc’s intent or personal beliefs. I have however been organizationally discriminated against. Salesforce is still an old world boys club, and focuses on hierarchy. This makes it hard to open it up to supporting women. Women who have been there a long time, also heeded warning of special behaviors that will help you get promoted. “Dress up, do your hair every day, wear makeup”.

I, and other women employees there spent days / nights crying about the sexual discrimination. We confided in each other and eventually left for greener pastures. I, and others are so glad we’re not there anymore.

Sales organization review in SF: work-life balance is pretty much non-existent if you do not live in SF. You are not allowed to work from home (pretty much ever) and you are expected to be in
the office before or at 8 and until at least 5 every single day (even Friday). This is fine for most, however, if you have to commute, or you have kids to pick up, the lack of flexibility is really taxing and for me was just not sustainable.

Salesforce says it eliminated the pay gap and is working to be completely equal for all, however, very few high ranking leaders are women. Maybe that is due to merit earned, maybe not. I do know that the women who were successful at Salesforce were given a lot of respect and praise. Hopefully, the leadership teams will become more diverse (in gender, ethnicity, and sexuality).

One thing to call out is the maternity/paternity leave policy- it’s pretty hard to beat. They also have a lot of great discounts and additional benefits to take advantage of (adoption assistance, paying for a portion of having your eggs frozen.. really amazing).

Overall, Salesforce is an amazing company, but you need to understand that part of their success is dependent on the fact that each employee pretty much does the job of about 2.5 people. If you are okay with this, it’s a great option!
