I have only been here at Intel for two years, so my comments will reflect what I think and have observed. Career Advancement is improving but I was initially shocked the number of Engineering Women Managers in the business group that I work in. It is too low at the middle management area. My perception for an experienced women who may have held titles and positions at previous companies, “prove yourself and we will promote you”, where as for a man the title, pay and opportunity is given without all of the proving. I’m still hearing stories of male counterparts making substantially more money than women in the same job and same grade level, but I know Intel is working on this and the stats are improving. They have put quite a few programs to support experienced hires and women. Intel is an extremely flexible, family friendly company.

I worked at Intel Amsterdam in the beginning of the 2000’s, my first “real” job right after university. I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better first employer. I look back with great memories, made some friends for life and got a pretty solid ground and training packages, that’s been helping me to excel in the years to come. I never found myself with less opportunities due to the fact that I am a women. They promote (and act) diversity, and had a strong company culture with focus on equality, and channels to go via if you needed support.

At that time I didn’t have children, but I am confident it would have been a great place to have them, as they supported home office, flexible hours, kindergarten support etc.

When comes to pay, my male co-workers with similar job scope, had equal pay. Pay was however the reason why I decided to leave Intel, they where not very competitive, and I landed a new job with an 80% increase! Very thankful for my years at Intel and I do recommend them as a great place to work for women (and men).

I did find Intel to be a pretty good place to work, however, they did not generally promote women into upper management at the division I worked at (the now defunct NED). But that was in the early 2000’s, so perhaps the culture there has changed.

I was a contractor for Intel, from 200o to August 2001. I did not get any Intel benefits. It was my first job in UK where I worked with people from other countries and who also spoke another languages. Great culture, good work environment. I`ve seen lots of colleagues, females and males, progressing their careers in the company. I dont know about the wages, I was aware a difference existed due to skills. We had lots of training. Excellent workplace.
