Love being part of the Gap Inc. Digital team. Feel very supported and have terrific mentors here. Diversity is truly valued at every level of the organization and the company has policies which hold up those values – the efficacy of the approach is reflected in the number of amazing female leaders across the business and across functions. Interesting work, great team, good work/ life balance, iconic brands and so many opportunities to learn. Highly recommend.

I worked at the Gap Inc. through high school and college. I loved the atmosphere and it definitely empowered women to be leaders in the company. I valued how you could advance if you wanted and always felt supported and encouraged by a team.

I worked with Gap brand for a total of 13 years. During the majority of my time, I felt supported, valued and appreciated. I loved everyone I worked with and continue to be great friends with many although the majority of us have moved on to different companies. The only reason why I left was because the organization changed in 2016. I no longer received the support and benefits that I did in the past. I had my 2nd child and when I wanted to return, the newly appointed RD told me I couldn’t have a flex schedule to ease myself back into the workplace, like I was offered when I had my 1st child. I had to be full time right away. I was offered a bathroom and electrical closet to pump not a real office or room, as I was still breast feeding. I just didn’t get the support and feeling of appreciation as I did in the past. What solidified my decision to leave was when I said I did not wish to return, I got a simple response of “Thank you for letting me know. Good luck to you.” And my co-workers told me that they were told in one sentence on a conference call that I was not returning. After 13 years, all I got was one sentence stating my departure. Again, overall, I loved the majority of my time at Gap but I do not regret my choice to leave. I hope more support is given to new mothers to make them feel more welcome upon their return to the office. I know tons of support is given to those in the SF office, but the field offices definitely need more work.

I was worked in Gap 1993 in HK office, at that time I was a merchandiser for Baby Gap Boys and New Born, I have total 7 seasons on hand per years, more or less 100 styles to handle per year. A lot of paper work, system update, techincial work etc. I can said more 12 hours in office which is no family life during my work in Gap. And also in HK office, I feel not too much friendship inbetween the team, maybe in US office culture is different. Compare my work in NIke before Gap is 100% different, we have a lot of team work, a lot of support. Eventhough after I worked in Underarmour, maybe they are really US company culture. Enjoy to work, feel comfortable. But sorry I can’t found any from Gap HK office at that time, that’s why I just work very short time and resign.

During my time at Gap, it felt like there was a good work-life balance with a supportive culture. The importance of family obligations and responsibilities seemed to be a understood and respected around the company.
