G-Research is Europe’s leading quantitative finance research firm. We hire the brightest minds in the world to tackle some of the biggest questions in finance. We pair this expertise with machine learning, big data, and some of the most advanced technology available to predict movements in financial markets.

GR’s Open Source Software division is responsible for researching and implementing open source solutions relevant to G-Research’s work. We work closely with communities to develop, upkeep, and share insights into active open source projects. GR-OSS focuses on driving awareness and developing a global community around G-Research’s quantitative analytics research efforts, such as in the areas of security, machine learning, cloud and big data infrastructure.

In this role, you’ll support GR’s work in growing a strong ecosystem for the open-source software community. You’ll work closely with Software Developers, Developer Relations, Open-Source Community, and Marketing teams to engage with the right audiences via different channels.

  • Articulating and creating marketing content for GR’s open-source projects, blogging, writing technical articles
  • Contributing code to open-source initiatives
  • Creating live, reusable demos of our projects
  • Traveling (prioritising safety & pandemic considerations) to make presentations and interact with audiences at developer and technical conferences
  • Cultivating authentic relationships with developers globally
  • Driving awareness in the broader open-source software community by representing GR-OSS
  • Collaborating with academia, industry associations, open-source foundations, incubators, and other OSPO’s (Open-Source Program Offices) to help drive support for the open-source community
  • Engaging with targeted software engineers, data engineers, quantitative analysts, and people in other technical roles to promote the use of GR’s open-source projects (eg. Armada & Siembol)
  • Advocating for developers to ensure the GR-OSS team meets their needs
  • Growing and maintaining a network of developer contacts and community
