I worked for E Trade as a temp but I wish it was full time. I truly enjoyed working there and I received a lot of support and training.

I was with the organization for more than 10 years. When I started they did not promote or pay raises, to get ahead you had to apply to internal job postings. The mindset was to support competition but it had some flaws.
I moved around the organization and learned a lot. There were different teams that were supportive of growth and others that definitely were not.
On the west coast, they are very supportive of employees with children and flexible schedules.

My experience was not the best. Each manager was promoted based on ‘relationships’ versus ‘merit or performance’. This left a real void when it comes to leadership and skill. That made it difficult to obtain the support that is expected from leadership. This crony, old boys club culture proves to make work efforts more difficult and feeds a culture where the end justifies the means. Not a good place for me…..

I worked with very abusive managers and team leads. Dealing with the reps in Manila was even worse. Ultimately, I’m glad I got laid off.
