This is a great company to work for. Overall it is outstanding. There are a few bad apples in the mid management team. The few bad apples are really awful, chauvinistic, patriarchal and liars. It does beg the question of why such a great company would let these people continue.
It could be rapid growth. The bad apples are not in the San Mateo office so it could be a lack of proximity to the awesome culture stemming from the HQ office.
The culture also changed when the company went IPO late last year. People started worrying about their jobs. People stopped hanging out together after work. Staying late to catch up on projects and be with your friends became actively discouraged.
If you are not looking for a second family, but rather a great place to learn new technologies, then this is a good place for you. The fun startup “Work hard. Play hard” culture is dead.
Coupa is all grown up with great benefits, cool technology, and a few warts.
