I worked at AOL from 1998 to 2007, I love the culture and the supportive environment. I moved up the ranks during my time there and owe the company so much for the opportunities they provided to me. I started at AOL 3 months after graduating from GMU.

I’ve worked at AOL in between 2005 and 2010. Great culture, great HR support, great atmosphere, I had a lot of fun ! In the first years it was mainly men men men and I could feel their attitude toward women sometimes. Not all men of course but some. I couldn’t involve in the company and I quitted because I wasn’t given the chance to take a new position even when I was supported by HR and my management. I quitted for a year and got back at another position in a sister company. When I came back and found some of my ex colleagues there. It was a much more diverse crowd including more women in different roles as they realized they had to make some progress. In the last years I discovered I didn’t get the same pay as men in the same position a : 15% difference.

I worked at AOL starting in the late 90’s so this review may be very different than what’s happening today. I worked in sales on a new product launch and had one of the best times of my career. I’m still friends with many of the people I worked with.

Inclusive and supportive company culture even though the work environment is hard driving and frequently changing. One of the few companies I’ve worked at where team collaboration was constantly encouraged and reinforced.
