My first job was at Accenture and I think my experience there truly paved my professional character. Kudos to my reporting managers and peers, everyone there works with a supportive mindset. The premises are always designed keeping employee well being in mind and that reflects.
As for career progression, I would say it is all dependent on an individuals performance and everyone is encouraged to learn new skills and do their best.

I have been working at Accenture for a few months now and have been impressed with the way the company really treats each person as an individual. There is major onus on every member of staff at all levels to treat individuals with respect. Allyship is a major theme here and there are some great resource groups that go above and beyond.

My team is beyond amazing. If I had to describe them I would say diverse, friendly, funny, supportive. They keep me putting out my best work and I’m learning a ton.

I do not have children, but many of my team members do and some have opted for alternative work arrangements or flexibility. That doesn’t mean I am expected to “pick up the slack,” (as has been the expectation at previous companies). Not one, but three managers have separately let me know that just because I don’t have children, doesn’t mean I’m not entitled to the same work-life balance as those who do have children. I think this really speaks to treating people like humans, not just a resource. They’ve worked with me to make sure that even though things can get busy on occasion, I have a schedule that allows me to spend additional time getting back to doing things I enjoy like my Pilates classes, travel, and some volunteer orgs I work with.

I can’t speak much to career progression yet, but have seen plenty of “lifers”. I think a major challenge remains recruiting Women in Tech in certain geographies where there are few female candidates. But the company is working hard to identify opportunities for community mentorship, recruitment, and deliberate development of more females. Overall, quite positive!
